August Worship Series: Faith & Film
This August, join us for Faith & Film as we explore how stories on the screen can deepen our understanding of God's story. Each week we'll pair a popular film with Scripture, discovering themes of courage, identity, belonging, hope, and God's presence in our lives.
To get the most out of the series, we encourage you to watch the movies ahead of time—or revisit an old favorite!

Then, on August 30, we'll celebrate Faith on a Stick! As Minnesota gathers for the Great Minnesota Get-Together, we'll explore the biblical connection between food, celebration, and gratitude. From harvest festivals to shared meals, Scripture reminds us that God delights in bringing people together.

Northfield United Methodist Church is seeking a part-time Children’s Ministries Director/Coordinator (10–15 hours/week) to help nurture the faith and community life of children in an inclusive, intergenerational congregation.
Unlock Support for Youth: Stock The L.O.C.K.
On Sunday, August 30, The Key’s Executive Director, Kelli Podracky, will be with us during worship to share a Mission Moment about The Key’s new initiative, The L.O.C.K. (Life Skills, Opportunity, Counseling, and Knowledge), and some of their basic needs for donations. But we don’t need to wait until then to begin our collection!
The LOCK is a trusted place where youth can find counseling and support—and also food and basic necessities. As one of their therapists reminded me this week, “Hungry kids don’t think well or make good decisions.”
Items especially needed: deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, acne cream and pimple patches, small packages of Kleenex, small bottles of water, juice boxes, granola bars, trail mix, and other individually packaged snacks.
Bring your donations to church beginning this Sunday. Small things can make a real difference.
Habitat for Humanity
Dave Wolf and George Davis are recruiting Habitat for Humanity construction volunteers for a group of NUMC church people to sign up for a volunteer work day on October 17th. at 8am to 3 pm (or as many hours you have available) We do provide a coffee break and lunch.
The 2 duplexes under construction are on the corner of Sumner and College in Northfield.
If you can volunteer, please send George Davis or Dave Wolf your name and email.
Rice County Habitat for Humanity Community Engagement Coordinator will collect names and emails from us and contact you as to what you need to do before Oct. 17th. Thank you.
SUMMER SPLASH

Join us on the south lawn for a joyful and refreshing end-of-summer splash event hosted by our church community!

Northfield UMC Youth Group (current grades 6-12)
NUMC Youth Group includes time for fun and recreation, community building games and activities, a mini-lesson to help our young people connect to God in everyday moments, and time for supporting and celebrating each other through our highs and lows.
Summer Youth Group
Youth Group will continue to meet approximately 2 times per month for outings, games, and special events. To sign-up for the Youth Group text reminder group, please text Kristen at (507) 676-3600. To be added to the youth email list, please email youth@northfieldumc.org.
NUMC Youth Group is for all youth in 6-12 grades. We meet Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8pm plus special outings and events. New youth are always welcome and encouraged to attend! For more information email youth@northfieldumc.org or text Kristen at 507-676-3600.
