Children’s Church
After the children’s message, kids pre-K through 5th grade will move to their own time and space for faith formation.

Advent Study, begins November 30 (four-weeks)
During Sundays in Advent, our congregation’s commitment to a year-long period of studying, praying, and acting on climate concerns is “public”. It follows our four-week series on climate concerns offered in the spring of 2025. Join us as we participate in a pilot-program on climate change, called Hope for Creation.
Children's Pageant - Wednesday, Dec. 17, 6:30 pm
Our children are practicing and preparing. If you have a youngster (pre K-5) who would like to participate, please contact Pastor Donna (ddempewolf@norhtfieldumc.org). While we rehearse on Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 pm, we'll work collaboratively to enable participation.

Toys For Tots
Northfield United Methodist Church is a Rice County Toys for Tots donation site! Donate a toy to help bring holiday joy to less fortunate children living in Rice County. Last year 841 children on assistance from Rice County Social Services received a toy. Toys are distributed to children between the ages of 6 months to to 14 years.
What: New, unwrapped toy(s)
When: Sunday, November 16 to Wednesday, December 10
Where: Boxes will be located in the NUMC narthex and south entry.
Advent study with Bishop Lanette: 'A Child is Born'
Plan now to participate in the 2025 Advent Study led by Bishop Lanette. In this study, United Methodists across the Dakotas and Minnesota are invited to read "A Child is Born" by Amy-Jill Levine. Dive into the narratives of Isaac, Ishmael, Moses, and Samuel to reveal how they foreshadow and enrich the timeless Christmas story. Levine shows readers how Scripture's earlier birth stories anticipate the story of Jesus’s birth and how His birth resonates and gives new meaning to those earlier stories. Discussions will be held via Zoom on Monday evenings, Dec. 1-22. More details will be provided as the first discussion draws near. All are welcome!

2026 Offering Envelopes
The 2026 Offering Envelopes are available for pickup in the hallway outside the church office. They are labeled with your name in alphabetical order. Using your numbered offering envelopes helps the counters and the office correctly credit your contributions to you. If you currently do not have numbered envelopes assigned to you or you do not see envelopes with your name, please contact Sandy in the church office to receive some.
Nativity Displays
MICAH is once again hosting nativity displays in the church narthex. Please contact us if you have a nativity you are willing to lend to the displays during the holiday season. micah@northfieldumc.org.
Northfield UMC Youth Group (current grades 6-12)
NUMC Youth Group includes time for fun and recreation, community building games and activities, a mini-lesson to help our young people connect to God in everyday moments, and time for supporting and celebrating each other through our highs and lows.
Youth Group is Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm unless otherwise noted.
December Youth Group:
During December we will be exploring the themes of Advent: Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love through games, activities, discussion, and outreach, including a fun filled “Santa’s cart” outing.
Wednesday, December 10: Speed Shopping Outing
We will be doing a shopping outing to purchase Toys and Food for the CAC. Youth are encouraged to bring $10 each to contribute, but a donation isn't necessary to participate! We will be doing a fun, fast-paced speed shopping round to gather some donations. Meet at church at 6:30pm
Wednesday, December 17: Children’s Christmas Pageant
Youth readers and assistants needed to help, plus the annual youth camels! Please contact Kristen if you can help. Youth group will follow immediately after the Pageant.
Youth Christmas Party
Please check the weekly Youth Email for updates on date and time. There will be games, white elephant gift exchange, and fun holiday cheer!

Creation Care Step
The average American family uses 500 plastic snack bags annually, which are non-degradable and may contain BPA. To cut waste and keep plastics out of food and the environment, choose eco-friendly alternatives, including reusable silicone bags, paper sacks, bamboo boxes, and glass containers.
