Activism at the Southern Border
"What you do for others you do for me."
Marie Gery’s work on the southern border of the USA is an outworking of decades of service and leaning into the experience of the marginalized poorest of the poor in America. Her work in the Sonoran Desert providing humanitarian support to undocumented peoples includes meeting such basic needs such as food, water, clothes, medical help, and sometimes maps. Marie’s reflections: “We all share our humanity. We all share hopes and dreams for a better world.”
Hanging of the Greens – Wednesday, Dec. 3, 6:30 pm
Join us as we prepare our sanctuary—and our hearts—for the in-breaking of Christ's light. Through scripture, songs, and symbols of the season, we’ll tell the story of hope and light while adorning the worship space with evergreens, candles, and poinsettias. Come be part of the joy as we begin the journey to Christmas together.

Congratulations to Donna Paulsen as she retires her organ shoes!
We’ll celebrate Donna’s faithful music ministry on Sunday, November 23, her final Sunday as our organist. It will be a special service with an organ–piano duet, bells, choirs, and several of Donna’s favorite hymns—possibly spanning a few liturgical seasons. Both Donnas are collaborating on this joyful morning. You’re invited and encouraged to bring cards of appreciation.
Welcome, Izel Theole, Children & Youth Intern

She’s a sophomore at St. Olaf, originally from Oakland, California, and will be working closely with Pastor Donna and Kristen Twitchell. We’re grateful for the gifts and energy she brings to our ministries.

Adult Faith Formation: Hope for Creation
On the first Sunday of Advent, our congregation’s commitment to a year-long period of studying, praying, and acting on climate concerns will “go public”. It follows our four-week series on climate concerns offered in the spring of 2025. Join us as we begin participating in a pilot-program on climate change, called Hope for Creation.
Advent study with Bishop Lanette: 'A Child is Born'
Plan now to participate in the 2025 Advent Study led by Bishop Lanette. In this study, United
Methodists across the Dakotas and Minnesota are invited to read "A Child is Born" by Amy-Jill Levine. Dive into the narratives of Isaac, Ishmael, Moses, and Samuel to reveal how they foreshadow and enrich the timeless Christmas story. Levine shows readers how Scripture's earlier birth stories anticipate the story of Jesus’s birth and how His birth resonates and gives new meaning to those earlier stories. Discussions will be held via Zoom on Monday evenings, Dec. 1-22. More details and the Zoom link will be provided as the first discussion draws near. All are welcome!

Creation Care Step
Put your money to work for justice. When you buy organic, you guarantee more farmers can grow healthy, safe food. When you buy fair trade, you provide living wages and fight poverty. When you bank with a community bank or credit union, you are investing locally and likely not funding fossil fuel projects. Choose justice.
