Tales from Bethlehem; Conversations in Minnesota Sunday, February 8 (hosted by MICAH)
Ruben Slomianski is a Jewish American whose family members include people who died as a result of the pogroms of the early 20th Century and the Holocaust, and also now includes family members who suffer under occupation in the West Bank.
He is an artist and advocate for human rights and justice for Palestinians, and he has been active with Jewish Voice for Peace Twin Cities Chapter and MN-BDS for several years.

Film: The Present Sunday, February 15 (hosted by MICAH) We will screen the Oscar nominated film The Present and have a discussion.
Climate Action This Week It takes only about 160 gallons of water to produce a loaf of bread, but it takes about 2,500 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef. Plus, conventionally raised red meat produces 150% more greenhouse gases than chicken or fish. Simply by reducing the amount of meat that we eat, we can have a much smaller environmental impact. Have a meatless day each week.
Northfield UMC Youth Group (current grades 6-12) NUMC Youth Group includes time for fun and recreation, community building games and activities, a mini-lesson to help our young people connect to God in everyday moments, and time for supporting and celebrating each other through our highs and lows.
Youth Group is Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm unless otherwise noted.

February 18: Ash Wednesday Worship Service & Art Reflections Attend the Service together. Youth group will meet immediately after following for a time of reflection and art-making.
February 25: Can't We All Just Get Along How do we navigate the difficult times we are living in and what Jesus teaches us about friendship.

Youth Scripture Readers The 2nd Sunday of the Month we ask for a youth to read Scripture during the 9:30am worship service. This is a great opportunity to connect with our church family, practice public speaking, and volunteer for our church. Confirmation Northfield UMC’s Confirmation program “From Belonging to Grace” starts on Sunday, February 8 at 10:45am. Youth (and their parent or guardian) in grades 9-12 who are interested in participating should attend our first session, “Belonging” on Feb 8. If you are unable to attend on February 8, there will be a make-up session on Wednesday, Feb 11 at 6pm. Confirmation will meet one Sunday morning and one Wednesday evening per month Feb-May and then Sept-Nov, with Confirmation Sunday in November. There will be at least one session during the Summer plus local service projects. For more info or to register, please email Kristen at youth@northfieldumc.org.
