Adult Faith Formation - Taking Moral Action and the Political Community
October 12 will be our last Sunday studying the revised Social Principles:2025-2028
The adult class will focus on The Political Community, pages 45-57, especially on "Church and Governments". We will begin with extended prayer-reflection on Civic Life, followed by guest presenters, Professor Chuck Huff (retired) and Almut Furchert, co-authors of Taking Moral Action. Rev. Howard White will also speak on his experiences taking moral action through bi-partisan lobbying and policy advocacy on the climate crisis. All are welcome; there are no required (only recommended) readings to prepare. Rev. Clay Oglesbee will facilitate.
On Sunday, October 19 we begin a three-week series on Spirituality of the Arts. The first week will focus on [ersonal remarks and showing of art works by St. Olaf faculty members, Michon Weeks and Anda Tanaka. Tim Goodwin will facilitate.
November 3-8: Meals On Wheels
Northfield United Methodist Church is responsible for delivering Meals on Wheels in November. A sign-up sheet is available on the welcome desk. Thanks to all who are willing to help with this task. Dennis and Marge Randolph, NUMC coordinators.
Children’s Church
After the children’s message, kids pre-K through 5th grade will move to their own time and space for faith formation. We’re using Road Trip—a creative and engaging curriculum that helps children explore faith in ways that connect to their everyday lives.

Northfield UMC Youth Group (current grades 6-12)
NUMC Youth Group includes time for fun and recreation, community building games and activities, a mini-lesson to help our young people connect to God in everyday moments, and time for supporting and celebrating each other through our highs and lows.
Youth Group is Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm unless otherwise noted.

6-6:45pm Help and participate in the Community pumpkin carving.
6:45-8pm Halloween themed games and treats, plus a “costume in a bag” contest.

Special Event: ValleyScare Outing to ValleyFair
Saturday, October 25 from 5-11pm
Invite a friend and get the thrills and spooky chills at ValleyFair with rides and a haunted theme park. Cost is $35 per youth plus spending money. More info and registration will be sent out via email.

Service Opportunities for Youth
Wednesdays from 6:15-6:30pm: Help clear tables after the meal.
2nd Sunday of the Month: read scripture during worship or help in worship.

Care Team Prayer List
